REI | EXPERT ADVICE
Often, we can miss great opportunity to expand our abilities due to a lack of understanding or awareness of new things. This Expert Advice campaign seeks to demystify and inspire those who have an emerging interest in the core activities of outdoor retailer, REI. As a high level educational tool, this series of videos offers introductory knowledge that focuses on fundamentals of equipment and method, rather than specific product. REI | BACK TO CAMPUS SURVIVAL GUIDE
The drowned cell phone, the party prank, the backpack cooler, the truth or dare streaker… these are the common hazards of the collegiate adventurer. Appealing to a new market, REI launched a Back to Campus Survival Guide campaign that showed, for instance, that fast drying jackets are just as effective for inclement weather as they are for unpredictable friends.

When an established brand undergoes some soul searching, it has a chance to refresh fading bonds with pre-existing consumers and grab the attention (and perhaps loyalty) of new demographics. During this time of transition it is critical to create a message that respects the brand’s founding principles while at the same time communicates a new identity.
